Title - “AGM + Scenes from Weston Turville 100 years apart"
Speaker – Dr. Glynn White
Entrance - £2 members, £3 visitors

Though an AGM is now well overdue, we are still hopeful of beating our record of 8 minutes. The AGM and update will be followed by a fascinating talk by Glynn White, our Secretary.

 

Glynn's talk will be centered on illustrating the transformation of the village of Weston Turville over the last century, using a variety of photographs and postcards sourced from the society's extensive archives. It promises to be a captivating journey through the village's history, highlighting its evolution from a small rural community to the village we know today.

 

Glynn has lived in Weston Turville since 1978 and following his retirement in 2010 has taken a great interest in Local History. He has written a book on the History of St Mary the Virgin Church in Weston Turville (available at the registration table).

  “ AGM + Weston Turville Criminality Part 1 ” Adrian Randall Meeting on Friday 28 th Jun 2024 Another AGM already. We are always hopeful of beating our 8 minute record. The quicker the AGM, the more time there is for this talk by Adrian, our Webmaster. This talk was originally intended as a presentation we had ready in case of an emergency. The research into crimes relating to Weston Turville and it’s residents became too interesting to potentially be left on the shelf. We have had to focus in on the 19 th Century crimes committed by a single individual, considered “The King of the Vagabonds”. This talk has an accompanying book containing the materials there was no time to include in the presentation. It will be on sale at the meeting for £12 (£10 a copy for members).
