WTHSoc July 2023 Wallingford Outing Details
This is the walk to compliment Judy’s talk to the society in June last year.
Wallingford’s surviving defensive earth walls and ditches were created over 1000 years ago and its streets still follow its Saxon layout. Beginning at the Museum and ending in the Market Place, the leisurely walk will guide you through back streets and lanes to discover the town’s chequered history. Looking at buildings, trades, industry and the legacy of its former inhabitants will help bring the past vividly to life. This photo shows just one building en route – a former malthouse, now the rowing club.
